Text Too Small? Here's How to Fix It on Any Phone in 2 Minutes
This might be the single most common thing we help with in our sessions, and if you've been squinting at your screen, you're far from alone. The good news is that every phone has a simple setting to make text bigger, and once it's set, it stays that way everywhere on your phone, texts, email, apps, all of it.
On an iPhone
Open Settings
Tap Display & Brightness
Tap Text Size
Drag the slider to the right until the text looks comfortable
If that's still not big enough, go back to Settings, tap Accessibility, then Display & Text Size, then Larger Text, and turn on Larger Accessibility Sizes for even bigger options
On an Android Phone
Steps can vary slightly by phone brand, but generally:
Open Settings
Tap Display (sometimes called "Display & Brightness")
Tap Font Size (or Font Size and Style)
Move the slider until it's comfortable
A Few Extra Tips
Test it on something you read often, like a text message or email, rather than just the settings screen itself, since some screens display text differently.
Bigger isn't always better. If text gets too large, some apps may cut off words or wrap oddly. Find the size that's comfortable without causing problems.
This setting is separate from zooming in with your fingers. This change makes text bigger everywhere, all the time, so you don't have to keep pinching to zoom.
You Don't Have to Live With Squinting
A lot of people assume small text is just something they have to deal with. It's not, and it takes less than two minutes to fix for good. If you'd like someone to walk through this with you live, along with a few other settings that make your phone easier to use, that's exactly what a Digital Concierge session is for.
